FOUR PAWS is an international animal welfare charity whose vision is a world where humans treat animals with respect, empathy and understanding.
Their mission is to be the strong, global and independent voice for animals under human control.
Creating sustainable solutions for animals in need
Touching hearts, changing consumer behaviour
Driving legal changes
Building powerful partnerships
They aim to realise these goals through our projects and campaigns, which provide short-term and long-term solutions for animals in need.

FOUR PAWS campaigns
Their campaigns are aimed at creating better living conditions for farm animals, wild animals, laboratory animals and companion animals. As more and more decisions about animal welfare are made at a European level, they focus their efforts increasingly on European policy makers in order to influence their beliefs, in favour of animals.
The goal of their national and international projects is to provide direct assistance to animals in need. The FOUR PAWS team rescues animals and rehomes them in their sanctuaries, where they can recover them in a natural environment. Simultaneously, they aim to improve the political climate for animal welfare and prevent animal suffering in the future.
Dancing bears, circus bears and other bears in private captivity suffer greatly. FOUR PAWS has four sanctuaries, in which several bears have found a home for life. They founded and run sanctuaries in Austria, Bulgaria, Germany and Ukraine.
The appalling conditions which some captive big cats are forced to endure led to the opening of LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary in South Africa. Rescued big cats are given a safe and natural environment where they can spend the rest of their lives.
Stray Animal Care
Stray dogs and cats roam the streets of many countries around the world, unloved and uncared for. FOUR PAWS works to successfully prevent disease and the uncontrolled reproduction by treating and neutering stray animals.
FOUR PAWS fight to protect mozerella buffallos, fois gras and live feather plucked geese and interssively farmed caged rabbits through various campaigns and projects.
FOUR PAWS receives no government funding. It is only with the help of their donors and supporters that they can help animals.
